I never imagined I would be specializing in Newborn and baby photography. Years ago that thought terrified me, but now I can’t imagine specializing in anything else. It’s so fun to look back where I started, and where I am now, and think about what I envision my next steps should be. I’m in awe that I am chosen to document such special milestones in my clients lives and it’s truly such a privilege!!! On a business note – I wrote about my 2018 year in review HERE, and today I want to talk about my outlook, and what I want to focus on for 2019.
As you may have read, 2018 was a year of growth for my business. I mean, it’s always been consistently growing, but this past year I added SO many new things, that this year I really want to focus on refining those changes. I want to focus on quality, and being very intentional with everything I do – for my business and for me personally!
I’m not really one for resolutions, or hard goal setting, instead I’m focusing on being more INTENTIONAL. So with that, in 2019 here are some of the things I want to be intentional with…
~Shooting – Over the years I have created my own personal workflow with sessions, that works really well for me and my clients. With that workflow in place, I want to use that to my advantage to be very intentional with my shooting.
~Sessions & scheduling – I already started implementing some changes with my scheduling this past year and they worked out really well. I needed to simplify and do what was best for me, and my family. So I will continue to do that this year. I am carefully planning sessions, and my calendar for the year. My Valentine sessions will take place at the end of January. I also have a few other events in the works – a Headshot event, if you are a small shop/business owner, professional, or just need some updates photos for marketing, then this is for you! And, a Stock the Studio event – if you are expecting or know someone who is – this is for you! Some other things to pencil in…my Motherhood event, will be mid April. I can not wait to pamper my mamas! Christmas in July, which is when the Santa Experience registration will be open. Then fall will be shortly there after. In between all of that and all of the babies due, my calendar is filling up, quickly!

~Blogging – I want to blog and more and showcase my clients and share the stories of their families. I have a LOT of sessions to catch up on from the end of 2018, oh my goodness there were LOTS of babies at the end of the year! I also want to add a bit more personal blogs, with a few other topics up my sleeve too!!=)
~Bucket list – I have a few things on my business bucket list, which I will share more about soon, but there are a few things on there I want to be able to cross off this year!
~Continuing Education – It’s been a goal of mine to go to an IN person education workshop for a while now (bucket list item=). But between having babies and said babies schedules and school schedules it’s just been hard. So, I’ve completed a lot of online workshops and mentorships and am a part of a continuing education group. BUT, this year I wanted to mentor in person, from one of my absolute favorite photographers… so I am, and could not be more excited about it!
So, those are just a few of the things I want to be able to focus on being intentional with this year! Thank you, again for following me, and supporting me on my journey. I’m really, really excited to see what year FIVE brings!!!
